How Do I Choose The Right Real Estate Agent in A Crazy Market?

We get it. The market is nuts. And with every Realtor you know screaming at you through a bullhorn to “SELL! SELL! SELL!” it’s tough to know what to believe and who to choose. We are firm believers that HOW you sell is the most crucial factor today. If you are thinking about selling- these are the three questions you should ask yourself when you decide to choose a real estate agent.

  • Are they a good listener? Your Realtor should be listening to EXACTLY what you are looking to accomplish. This is not the time to wing it. They need to listen to you, have a detailed plan of attack, and be capable of executing. Today’s market is all about how you execute.

 

  • How are they going to keep my family and me safe? That’s a question you need to ask, and they better have an answer. It is entirely possible to sell your home safely. We helped dozens of people sell and move last year, and everyone stayed healthy and safe. That is because we have iron-clad health and safety protocols that we make buyers and their agents adhere to, before they step foot in your home. Any agent you talk to should have the same, and be able to outline them for you.

 

  • What is their plan for alternative marketing? Real estate marketing is different these days. We aren’t allowed to hold open houses. Frankly, you wouldn’t want us to. But there are ways to market a home now, that gets maximum exposure, with limited foot traffic. We’ve done it with our listings. We started posting virtual tours of all our listings so a buyer can “walk through” virtually, without stepping foot inside. Any real estate agent you speak with should have a detailed plan on how to showcase a home in TODAY’S market.

Choose a real estate agent that makes it clear that the health and safety of you and your family is a priority, and make sure they have a plan, and a proven track record of executing that plan, and you’ll be just fine.
